This web-based application is meant to
be a generalized means for users, both within LINC and the
public, to look up information that has some relation to County
geography, properties or planning. The Land Parcel Notification
and Topographic Map Viewing System will allow users to search
for properties based on a tabular query (roll number, name,
civic address) and also through a spatial query using standard
window functionality like zoom window.
The spatial data will be served to the Intranet/Internet from
one central server located at the County. The application
will permit basic online editing of the spatial data. The
tabular data utilized in the application will be channeled
from multiple locations (ie. zoning database could be maintained
by the local municipality). Access to the GIS databases will
be grouped into four categories; free data, public data, LINC
member data and secured data. Access to the categories of
data and system functionality will be granted on a subscription
basis save and except the free data.
Portions of the application will require
a maintenance auditing system as well as an electronic commerce
solution. The application will be flexible enough to print
reports and mailing labels related to the selected properties
and notify owners or occupants using traditional mail merge
technology.
The Tourist and Business Locate Application
will allow local and regional economic development agencies
to disseminate information about commercial and industrial
locations. The application will give the public and private
business a web based tool allowing their business or property
to be located on a map. It will also determine the shortest
path to the business, and print out related directions and
maps. The business locations, descriptions and associated
URL addresses will be maintained online by the businesses
themselves through a Business Input Screen. The Business Input
Screen will link the event address to a location on the County
Single Line Road Network Map. Other site related information
(overlays) of interest to the public and business community
will also be included.
