Major information resources are located in 17 public libraries
across Simcoe County. They require fast connectivity with each
other in a private Intranet and with government and other agencies
in order to share common databases, exchange and disseminate
information and services.
The public
will also be able to identify the location of a resource and
remotely request access to a product or service. For many
residents in Simcoe County, the libraries are also the only
access points to the Internet. Residents can access products
and services such as distance education, Virtual Town Hall
and GIS applications.
