The county, municipal governments and libraries will connect
through a "Virtual Town Hall Window" on a high-speed network
which would allow the public and business a "one stop" approach
to the delivery of municipal services. This also enables transactions
between the government and the community through a shared
E-commerce server. The integration of databases eliminates
the requirement to physically visit any or more than one government
office to do business. The Virtual Town Hall window provides
24-hour access to municipal services for residents.
The portal also makes city permit information, town council
proceedings, jobs and tenders easily accessible and available
to the entire community.
Plans for future development include the ability to conduct
municipal business online such as applying for a building
permit and paying permit fees using e-commerce.
